Mission Statement:
Green Ambassadors is an environmental education program that empowers youth to be agents of change in their communities and world. Through service learning, community partnerships, and cross-cultural and global exchange, the program fosters personal growth and leadership skills to help youth tackle the most critical environmental issues facing our planet.

Goals:
To transform the community through idea exchange and social action. To help young people develop, whole and complete. To network communities, empowering local and global solutions. To inspire hope within us all for a just, sustainable and peaceful planet.

Programs:

Green Youth Coalition connects environmental clubs across Southern California in order to create a green youth movement. The Green Ambassador Coalition Delegates will be comprised of two (2) members from each club.

After School/In-School Program is a 10-week community based service-learning in-action program, providing solutions to the most critical environmental issues facing our communities.

"Be Cool Be Green" Youth Summits are a collaboration of youth leaders from across the city and nation to inspire, create, and share solutions for a healthy planet.

Green Solution Tours travel to cities in the U.S. to create and share how youth are empowering youth to transform their communities. The tour will use our green mobile embassy equipped with sustainable systems, an editing station and multi-media equipment for presenting at school assemblies, community events, and conferences.

Green Adventures is a cross culture and global exchange travel program where youth study solutions, create and share ideas, collaborate and exchange culture.

The people behind this Global endeavor:

Founder/Executive Director: Sara Laimon
Sara Laimon, founder of GreenAmbassadors.org, is an educator at Environmental Charter High School and has been a positive light within the sustainability movement for the past ten years. At age 17, Laimon ran for the City Board with a platform for greening her hometown of Pewaukee, WI, losing by only three votes. Sara has since spent her life educating youth about sustainability and seeking unique and varied ways to reach this important audience. Laimon, a National Board Certified Candidate, teaches the importance of actively contributing and being a steward of this planet. During her career as a classroom teacher, she has guided classes and school groups to create cob benches, convert a diesel car to run on veggie oil, create bio-diesel, and eat organic. Sara has traveled the world finding, sharing, and learning solutions. Furthermore, she is devoting her life to creating and nurturing eco-activists to be empowered to share the solutions to Global Warming. Beyond that, Laimon is dedicated to making every school the center of green solutions, within every community across the nation and ultimately the world.

Development Director: Guzel Gjenasaj
As an Albanian-American growing up in Brooklyn, NY, Guzel feels very fortunate to have spent alternating summers in The Republic of Montenegro (the Former Yugoslavia). The remote mountainous farm life allowed her to connect with nature in a way that could never be possible in the inner city. This passion for life and nature fuels her desire to help youth enjoy similar adventures.
Guzel's diverse experience in industries such as the Internet, fine art and education is complemented by an Anthropology degree from California State University, Northridge. While teaching Anthropology at Environmental Charter High School, she connected with the youth and Sara Laimon's vision. As such, she chose to be a part of Green Ambassadors, inspiring them to create endless possibilities.
In her current role, Guzel manages fundraising and development. In addition, Guzel helps to create and facilitate new Green Ambassador programs and strategic partnerships, while serving as a leader and mentor to its student participants.
