The mission of Green Ambassadors is to empower youth to be agents of change in their communities and world. Through these initiatives the Green Ambassador participates in service learning, community partnerships, and cross-cultural and global exchange, the program fosters personal growth and leadership skills to help youth tackle the most critical environmental issues facing our planet. The core of Green Ambassadors youth-driven programming is for youth to be trained in the solution and be ambassadors for the initiative:

* One Billion Bulbs
Youth empowering youth to imagine the possibilities. Imagine if people all over the world mobilized to replace one billion standard incandescent light bulbs with energy-efficient compact fluorescent (CFL) light bulbs.

* Plastics are Forever
Youth empowering youth to create cleaner oceans by banning plastic bags and Styrofoam (polystyrene) in Los Angeles.

* Biofuels for Schools
Youth empowering youth to create clean air for all by getting our school buses to run on cleaner burning biofuels.

* Plan-it Organic
Youth empowering youth to provide healthy food options in schools and communities.

* Youth Driving Change
Youth empowering youth to demand clean car options for a green generation.

* Biodiversity Hotspots
Youth empowering youth to conserve and protect the world's biologically richest and most threatened ecosystems.

* Build-It Green
Youth empowering youth to create sustainable and exciting green environments.

All program initiatives grew out of working with partners in the community and through the pilot program at Environmental Charter High School. Green Action Projects are found in all the Green Ambassadors programs.

These green action projects are implemented by youth who are committed to fulfilling Green Ambassadors mission, vision, values, and goals. The Green Ambassador program provides a different way of learning for youth who want to contribute to this planet.
