Green Ambassador Youth Coalition

Mission of the Green Ambassadors:

The Green Ambassadors is an environmental education program that empowers youth to be agents of change in their communities and world. Through service learning, community partnerships, and cross-cultural and global exchange, the program fosters personal growth and leadership skills to help youth tackle the most critical environmental issues facing our planet.

What is the Green Ambassador Youth Coalition?

The coalition exists to connect environmental clubs across Los Angeles in order to create a green youth movement. The Coalition is the central hub that supports and enhances the work of each individual club, while joining forces to learn from each other and work together on larger projects and campaigns. The Coalition will be represented by 2 members from each club, who together will be The Green Ambassador Coalition Delegates. The Delegates are the intermediary between their site club and the Coalition. The Green Ambassador Youth Coalition is dedicated to providing clubs with experiences to help understand the problems we face, and trainings and conferences to learn about, create and spread solutions.

Who are the Delegates?

Green Ambassador Coalition Delegates are young leaders from across the city that have the motivation, dedication, and determination to build a green youth movement. Participants gain knowledge, skills, and values to influence and create social change. These delegates participate in leadership training over the summer (dates to be announced) and work together throughout the year to build and strengthen the coalition of high school youth working for sustainable solutions throughout Los Angeles. Green Ambassador delegates travel to learn first-hand about environmental issues, make city wide action plans, coordinate environmental youth leadership summits and teach environmentally themed lessons across the city. The delegates are supported by Green Mentors, who are the leaders and experts in all areas of sustainability and the environment.
